are we being punished for something?

binge-watch (v): to watch (multiple videos, episodes of a tv show, etc.) in one sitting or over a short period of time

two years ago this summer, i binge-watched my first tv show on netflix. it started off pretty slow, but as i found out the show was still on air, i picked up momentum.

and that kids, is the show of how i met your mother.

for those who don't know, how i met your mother is--well, sorta self explanatory... main protagonist, ted, is telling his kids how he met their mother. wait, it's been on nine years and that is all it's about? technically, yes, but at the same time, no. ted has told many different stories along side his four friends throughout the years and never really got to the point until tonight's episode. {finally, ted}

i know many have made connections to friends and himym, but i believe himym has left an impact on me. from himym, i have learned many things. examples: nothing good happens after 2 am, never give up on love, keep your story short and to the point {ted...}, and keep your friends close. :)

like many people who watch a television show all the way through, i have some of my favorite episodes. of course, i do love every single episode one way or another, but these are the ones that i watch whenever i need a good laugh or put a smile on my face :) {maybe i need to watch some right now} these are in no particular order, i am just simply looking at imdb by season, and giving a quick synopsis {and maybe a gif} of it.

episode 101: pilot
ted tells the story of how he met robin and steals the iconic blue french horn for her. as ted tells the kids, robin "was no ordinary girl".

episode 110: the pineapple incident
ted cannot remember what happened this night {even in 2030} after passing out from getting super drunk. ted awakes the next morning with a sprained ankle, a brown headed girl in the bed with him, and a pineapple? also the highest viewed episode of season 1, people.

episode 209: slap bet
barney and marshall make a bet about what robin is hiding about her fear of malls. marshall thinks she was once married in a mall, while barney believes she was a porn star back in the day. winner of the bet? three slaps delivered to the loser's face.

episode 215: lucky penny
ted and robin are trying to catch their flight to chicago for a potential job ted might get. they trace steps backwards to the original incident that caused them to miss their flight.

episode 221: something borrowed
marshall and lily get married! what better description is there to do?!

episode 305: how i met everyone else
ted tells his date "blah blah" how he met everyone in the group. barney thinks she is hot, but someone cannot be that hot without being crazy. thus, the crazy hot scale.

episode 402: best burger in new york
after having a burger at maclaren's, marshall says it does not compare to a burger he once had his first week in new york. the only problem? he doesn't remember where. the gang goes on a hunt to find the best burger place and even regis philbin helps. :)

episode 424: the leap
ted is ignoring his 31st birthday on the roof of the apartment due to his architectural project. however, lily's new pet goat makes think chaotic for ted. while up on the roof, marshall thinks about jumping to the apartment across the way.

episode 511: last cigarette ever
the gang vows to take their last cigarette as marshall promises that one is always his last. i like this episode because the gang kept their promises to take one last one {eventually}. :)

episode 512: girls vs suits
barney meets a girl he really likes, the only problem is that she doesn't like his suits. the best part about this episode is that barney has a rockin' musical number.

episode 514: the perfect week
barney attempts to have a "perfect week" by taking home a girl every night for a week. although i don't like the premise of this episode, swishy is in it so it makes it all better. :)

episode 518: say cheese
ted brings a date to lily's birthday party and it angers her. this episode is super funny because robin is trying to make barney look bad in at least one picture.    photo saycheese_zpsa2e4483d.png

episode 604: subway wars
the gang races to go see woody allen and all take different ways to get to the place. basically, "you're not a true new yorker until..." it's great.

episode 610: blitzgiving
ted leaves maclaren's early to prepare for thanksgiving, while the gang convinces he is the new "blitz".

episode 720: trilogy time
ted, marshall, and barney make a pact to watch the original starwars trilogy every three years. it shows the three guys into the future, so that rocks. :)

episode 806: splitsville
robin is reluctant to breakup with her boyfriend despite him being dumb.

episode 812: the final page part two
barney plans to propose to patrice, however it is the last page in his playbook called “the robin”.

all of season 9. this season, no matter how cooky, how long, or how “disappointing” it might be, has been one of my favorites. this episode tonight, has made me laugh and cry and it reminded me how much i'll miss this show. the entire ending, blew me away, and once the final season is on netflix, you can count on me binge-watching again and tying loose ends. :)

goodbye himym; my favorite show.
