Thyroidectomy

Hiya, friends and fam! Good to see ya! It has been a long, two and a half weeks since I have last blogged and I have been struggling on what's next. I constantly irked Johnny and my parents on ideas, and probably even took social media to annoyance, but it wasn't until my mother mentioned "pre-op" this morning and I just knew what I had to write about.

As you may or may not know {you'd be surprised}, I came home from being away at the University of Arizona way back in January due to the discovery of two nodules on my thyroid gland at what I thought was going to be, a normal checkup. After twelve needles pricked my wee little neck, results showed that both nodules were benign, which normally means no surgery for this chica; however, given the situations {i.e. my grandmother having thyroid cancer, my age, me being a girl} endocrinologists {my mother and I went to three of 'em...} suggested to still get it taken out.

So without further ado, I will be getting half of my thyroid out next week. In preparation, I have gotten many second opinions, read all the side effects and all that other jazz, and even have had a couple of nightmares along the way {thanks to me for starting Grey's Anatomy}. All I gotta say is...

Until after surgery folks! I shall keep ya posted {which probs means another two weeks of nonblogging exercises}.

Xoxo, andie
